  • ISOHSA led but we’re defeated for the third time this season season
  • Ikose Njuma scored his fourth goal of the season just like Arrey Jefta got his third of the season

Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe were beaten by the odd goal in five on Saturday at the Fotso Victor stadium in Bandjoun.

Coach Ayme Nlend’s team led at the break but David Kamongne’s Djiko FC put up an impressive second have push to beat their visitors and extend their winless run to five games.

A third goal of the season from Arrey Jefta and Ikose Njuma’s fourth this term turned out to be consolatory only as Cyrus Wandji, Hamidou Issa and Fogno Tabue made sure the hosts bag maximum points.

As expected, captain Ashu Brice Tabi and his ISOHSA colleagues dominated the opening segment of the game, creating a number of good opportunities, but couldn’t take as many.

Ikose Njuma found the back of goalkeeper Sodea Eric’s net earlier in the first segment but his goal was chalked off by the officiating team that adjudged him to be offside.

ISOHSA returned with their troubles at the 35th minute. This time around Jefta and Ashu combined beautifully to give the visitors a deserved lead in a half they had created the best chances.

In form strikers Wandji and Hamidou turned things around in quick succession adding to their tally of a brilliant season so far. The former headed the equalizer from a free header as well perfect ball from a corner met him unmarked in the box. Hamidou on his own outpaced Abdoul Razack after a neat one-two ball that left him clear on goal before scoring.

Despite going down within a short period, ISOHSA made changes, rallied and equalized. Lead scorer Njuma beat Sodea for the second time to restore parity.

Unfortunately for Tebug Kingsley and the rest of the visiting team, Tabue scored the winner eight minutes from another free header which left goalkeeper Frank Ipoua rooted to the spot for the second time.

The advanced match day nine result leaves ISOHSA vulnerable of exiting the top four for the first time this season while tightening Djiko’s grip at the top and assuring them of a place in the promotion playoffs.
