Nchindo, Handzongo fires YOSA to MTN Elite One Playoffs Up

Yong Nchang Nchindo John Bosco scored a brace and Patrick Victoire Handzongo scored a goal for Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda as they defeated Fovu of Baham 3#2 to book a place in the Playoffs Up.

The matchday 18 fixture played at the MTN Municipal arena in Mbouda saw Yong Sports Academy put under a lot of pressure as they saw Fovu equalizing two times in the first half.

YOSA’s captain and lead scorer this season, Yong Nchang Nchindo John Bosco opened scores for the academicians of Bamenda 18 minutes into the first half.

The lead didn’t last long as first half substitute, Mandje Koudeka equalized at the 33rd minute of play. 5 minutes later, Nchindo John Bosco scored again to restore YOSA’s lead. But at the stroke of half time, Arsene Nandje leveled scores.

In the second half, it took just five minutes for second half substitute Patrick Victoire Handzongo to give YOSA the lead.

Despite pressure from Fovu of Baham, YOSA was able to maintain their lead and grab all three points.

The victory takes Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda to the 3rd position in Group B with 24 points, synonymous to a ticket into the MTN Elite One Playoffs Up.
