Cotonsport Garoua continued their MTN Elite One campaign with an impressive 3-1 away victory over Dynamo de Douala at the Stade de Bonamoussadi on Sunday, with Jean François Popess Manguele, Seini Hamit and Kache Boris Fon all finding the net.

The record champions made a strong start to their Matchday Three encounter, taking the lead in the ninth minute through Jean François Popess Manguele. The 2026 UNIFFAC U20 champion was among the standout performers for Cotonsport, giving the visitors an early advantage in Bonamoussadi.

Cotonsport doubled their lead in the 36th minute when Seini Hamit found the back of the net, leaving Dynamo with a difficult task heading into the second half. The Garoua outfit carried their two-goal advantage into the interval after a disciplined first-half display.

Dynamo Douala attempted to fight their way back into the contest after the restart, with Brice Ngamakoua reducing the deficit in the 54th minute. However, their hopes of completing a comeback suffered another setback just three minutes later when Kache Boris Fon converted a penalty in the 57th minute to restore Cotonsport’s two-goal cushion.

The goal proved decisive as Cotonsport held on for a 3-1 victory, collecting an important away win in their third outing of the 2026/27 Elite One season. For Dynamo, the defeat represents a disappointing afternoon in front of their supporters, while Cotonsport will take considerable confidence from their attacking performance and ability to secure maximum points away from home.

The result further underlines Cotonsport’s ambition to remain competitive in the race for the Elite One title as the new campaign gathers momentum.
