Dynamo of Douala have been mathematically knocked out of the race to win the 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship following a disasterious run in the playoffs tournament.

Their fate was confirmed on Wednesday, April 9 following a disappointing 1-1 draw against title-chasing Colombe of Dja and Lobo in a game they led but couldn’t hold on as it’s been throughout this playoffs.

Ulrich Mpeck put the Bon Ba Djob ahead but Chadian international Charles Pasture Tchouplaou cancelled the advantage with a goal that was the last of the game and ensured it finished on a parity score.

The final whistle from the team of match officials meant Dynamo earned their third draw in five outings in the competition and remain winless.

The three points obtained so far with two games left mathematically puts them out of touching distance from leaders YOSA that count ten points so far.

Dynamo who got rid of coach Yves Clement Arroga this week have been one of the disappointment of the playoffs. The club has punched below expectations this season and represents one of the disappointments of the playoffs alongside Canon Yaounde.

They will cap their playoffs with games against Stade Renard of Melong and Cotonsport who are still in the title race.
