36 year-old Kenyan athlete by name Charles Kipsang,participant at the 29th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope, collapsed and dies of heart attack.

Information gathered holds that, Kipsang was transported to the Buea Regional Hospital where he gave up the ghost.

Despite numerous efforts to reanimate him at the Molyko Omnisport stadium failed.

Present at the Buea Regional Hospital, was the South West Region, First Sports man, to assess the situation.

The athlete though looking exhausted after crossing the finish line, showed no signs of illhealth.

Charles Kipsang becomes the second Kenyan athlete, to have died within a short time frame.

It should be recalled that Kenya men’s world marathon recorder, Kiptum died while driving on the night of February 11.

After his car veered off the road into a ditch and then hit a large tree, as revealed by Kenyan media. He and his trainer Hakizimana all died instantly. Another passenger, Sharon Kosgei, was injured in the crash.
