Inspiration-filled Heartland Queens will hit the trenches against visiting watersmeet side, Confluence Queens on Wednesday, December 06 at the sacred turf, Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri for the NWFL Premiership matchday 4 matchup.

The dugout will be the first time ever league clash between the premier leaguers.

However, the topflights were at each other throat just few months ago in the 2023 Federation Cup round of 32 clash in Asaba with the homers pocketing the entire spoils on that auspicious occasion.

Both sides have not forgotten the bitter sweet occasion and will be going for each other scalps when the artisans step out on the turf of Dan Anyiam Stadium for the three league points.

Incidentally, the Owerri mainstreams still have chunk of the victors on the Federation Cup matchday in their midst including the soft-spoken gaffer, Obi Ogbala to launch another round of victory dance against the Lokoja-based wayfarers.

Ogbala must be the happiest man right now as his side’s conjurewoman, Lucky Mary has rediscovered her matching boots on time and will be handed the marching order to lead the onslaught for the all important league points with other complements, Chinedu Chinaka, Onyinyechi Kalu, Chimebere Opara, among others.

Five-star performer and netminder, Uchenna Chukwu is a sure bet to man the post while leak proof and watertight coverage will come from hard as nail defenders, Kelechi Orgii, Onyedikachi Ekezie, Chinyere Iheoma and captain, Ekaette Akpata.

Of course, midfield maestros, Oluchi Okwara, Nwabueze Charles, Chidinma Anaele and former Nigerian junior international, Oluchi Ofoegbu are all riped to be on duty.

Heading into Wednesday’s evenly matched dugout, the Owerri landladies won a fierce oriental derby against neighbours, Abia Angels in Aba while the Lokoja-based side were homely at adopted ground in Iyamho, Auchi, Edo state as they pipped the Oil City side, Royal Queens with one unreplied goal.

Heartland Queens need an outright victory in the clash to boldly challenge the top spot of the eight-team Group A log as they are just one point adrift the challengers, Confluence Queens and leaders, Nasarawa Amazons.

The Owerri side will be next on a long journey to last league season’s nemesis, Naija Ratels in Abuja for the NWFL Premiership matchday 05 clash.
