  • Arthur Avom is the only new inclusion in Cameroon’s latest squad to face Namibia and Zimbabwe in their last two qualification matches for the 2025 AFCON
  • The Lorient midfielder joins Georges Kevin Nkoudou and Darling Zidane Yongwa making their comeback to the squad

19-year-old attacking midfielder Arthur Avom is part of Indomitable Lion playera call up for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Namibia and Zimbabwe this November.

The former Fauve Azur Elite player makes the vut to the 34-man squad summoned by Marc Brys to play the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games against Namibia and Zimbabwe

Since joining FC Lorient from Fauve Azur in 2023, Avom has quickly established himself as a key player. He began his tenure with the club in the second team, but his exceptional performances led to a promotion to the first team. In just nine appearances this season, Avom has recorded three assists, demonstrating his ability to create scoring opportunities.

Notably, he provided two assists in a match against Rodez AF, earning him a spot in the Team of the Week for Matchday 10.

For Avom, playing for the national team has been a lifelong dream. One he will get to live in this month. With his dynamic playing style, he is expected to form an effective partnership in midfield with fellow young talent Carlos Baleba.

The squad list also feature the return of winger Georges Kevin Nkoudou, who missed previous qualifiers due to injury.

Nkoudou has been in excellent form with Damac, scoring five goals and providing one assist in nine games this season. His return will add significant depth to the squad, alongside teammates Yvan Neyou and Darlin Yongwa.

Coach Marc Brys has made strategic decisions regarding player selection, dropping Kunde Malong, Martin Atemengue Nzie, and James Ndjengoue to inject fresh energy into the team.
