6-1 is the scoreline that separated Legend football Academy from Kumba Lakers, on the second day of play, in the south-west women’s second divisional championship.

Played at the GPS field on Friday, July 14, 2023, Kelda and Franka were on target twice, with Berrinette and Rose Mary chipping in one each, to complete the six goal thriller.

The girls of Kingsley Etoh , who were off a 7:0 win over Royal Falcons of Limbe on Tuesday, July 4, wasted no time in announcing their presence as Kleda fed off a good cross from Melanie to net in the opener at the fifth minute of play.

Franka, popularly known as “Ronaldo” will take advantage of the Lakers goalkeeper’s wrong positioning to slot in the second two minutes later.

At half-time, south-west defending champions legend will be up by four goals, while Kumba Lakers would manage to score just one.

The second half will bear no fruits for the Lakers girl, as Franka will complete her brace, giving room for Berrinette to finish the six goals.

These games are played on a home and away basis, with the away game to be scheduled in the upcoming days.

Legend academy seats out on day three which comes up on Sunday, July 16, 2023, as Kumba Lakers face off with the Royal Falcons of Limbe.
