Lekie Filles midfielder Kamayi Codelia Achang has admitted lifting a maiden Guinness Super League title is the stuff of dreams.

Lekie were confirmed as champions for the 2022/23 season thanks to a 6-2 win against Authentic Ladies FC on Saturday on match day 19 of the championship in Douala. Stephane Ndzana’s side will get their hands on the trophy on the last day of the season.

Reflecting on the triumph, Codelia, who has won her first title since joining Lekie in 2020 has admitted it feels special.

“To have helped the Club win the Guinness Super League title is something very special,” Codelia told kick442.com. “The League is without doubt very demanding and competitive, so that tells you everything about what an achievement this is.

“This squad is so talented and so special. It has been an enormous privilege playing with them.”

The former GBHS Tiko playmaker expressed her gratitude to all that contributed in the title triumph.

“I would also like to thank coach Ndzana, all the backroom staff and everyone who works across this football club,” he continued. “Every single day they help provide us as players with everything we need in order to try to be successful. There is no way we could have won this title without all their support.

“To have won this trophy after losing just two games in just our second season is incredible. That quality and consistency helps sum up what Lekie stands for and ensures the Club will continue to strive for success going forward.

“It has been a season I will never forget,” she added.

Codelia played 16 of the clubs 17 games so far this season and has scored twice, plus two assists while operating in the deep midfield role.
