Captain Yves Alain Dooh Moukoko, Emmanuel Mahop, Marius Ngon A Tati and Yves Zoa have been suspended from all Canon Yaounde activities for the next ten days owing to acts of indiscipline during the playoffs in Douala.
Moukoko and co were suspended on Wednesday, May 23 after an internal hearing which revealed that both players had left camp on the eve of their playoffs matches against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda and Cotonsport of Garoua.
Mahop finished the season as the league’s top scorer with 13 goals.
Findings have it that the players adopted a clubbing attitude while in Douala, and on the eve of the two crucial games, they only returned to base in the early hours of the morning.
Canon endured a devastating playoff competition, winning one of their three games to finish with three points and on the third spot in the four-clubs tournament.
Canon will face Lumiere de Dzieng in the 32nd finals of the 2023 Cup of Cameroon this Sunday.
