Gabriel Haman, head coach of Cotonsport of Garoua says their star midfielder Kaiba Djawal is ‘missing’ as he has not turned up for club duties since the start of the week.
Coach Haman made the stunning revelation on arrival and after Friday’s 4-0 CAF Champions League defeat to Al Ahly SC of Egypt at the Roumde Adjia stadium.
“Kaiba has disappeared. I don’t know his whereabouts. I don’t know if he is still with the club or he has left. It is very embarrassing to work with people with such an attitude. He hasn’t turned up for training since Monday.”
A few weeks ago, it was reported that the 19-year-old midfielder had been transferred out of the club but will stay till the rest of the current CAF Champions League season. That looks unlikely as it stands.
Kaiba featured in Coton’s first three games of the group stage of the competition but missed the 2-0 defeat to Al Hilal in match day three due to suspension for accumulated bookings.
The man who has provided both assists for Cotonsport this season in the Champions League was last seen in the club colors during last Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Avion Academy at the Bonamoussadi stadium. He played the duration of that game.
The midfield gem was key to Coton’s league and cup double triumph last season.
