Cameroonian tactician Joseph Brian Touongo Ndoko has been appointed as the new head coach of TP Mazembe Ladies in a major career move for the experienced trainer,kick442.com has exclusively gathered.

The deal was completed earlier this week after Ndoko signed his contract shortly after arriving in Lubumbashi, DR Congo.

Ndoko takes over from Moroccan coach Lamia Boumehdi, who recently departed the club following a successful stint in charge. His appointment underlines TP Mazembe Ladies’ determination to remain a dominant force domestically while strengthening their ambitions on the continental stage.

Ndoko, a CAF License A holder and nominee for CAF of the year in 2018, he brings a wealth of experience from both club and international football though this is his first major job abroad.

In Cameroon, he has coached several teams including ISOHSA of Limbe, Aigle of Menoua, DAC 2000 amongst other clubs, building a reputation as a tactically disciplined coach with a strong eye for team organization and player development.

Beyond men’s club football, Ndoko has also made his mark in the women’s game. He guided Cameroon’s women’s national team during the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the side enjoyed one of its most memorable tournament runs. Cameroon remained unbeaten in regular time, finished with the competition’s best attack and defense, and pushed Nigeria to penalties in the semifinals, securing qualification for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

He also worked with Cameroon’s U-17 women’s national team, leading them to qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in a run in which they won all six qualifier matches.

At TP Mazembe Ladies, his immediate mission will be to secure domestic silverware before steering the club through the zonal qualifiers in pursuit of a ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League later this year. He is also expected to serve as the club’s general manager in charge of restructuring the 2024 Women’s CAF Champions League winners.
