  • Ikose Njuma’s 16th goal in 17 appearances this season was all ISOHSA needed to eliminate Unisport from the 2024 Cup of Cameroon
  • Njuma scored the winner with three minutes left on the clock as ISOHSA recorded another win against Unisport
  • Coach Joseph Mbock’s ISOHSA will face Stade Renard of Melong in the next round of the competition

MTN Elite 2 top scorer Ikose Njuma Conrad sent Isle of Hope Sports Academy Of Limbe (ISOHSA) to the 16 finals of the 2024 Cup of Cameroon.

The Limbe-based outfit secured their first-ever qualification for the third round of the national challenge Cup on Saturday May 25 at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza courtesy of an 87th minute strike from Ikose Njuma Conrad.

ISOHSA who had offered a football lesson to regional franchise Legends FA via a 3-0 win entered the contest in full confidence knowing they also beat Unisport 2-0 the last time the sides met in the league just over six weeks ago.

Njuma, the lethal finisher who got one of his 15 goals against Unisport in the just-ended MTN Elite 2 championship was on hand to finish a well worked pass from Serge Bengono Bengono to end the Bafang team’s dream of repeating the champions status achieved in 2015.

Though Unisport dominated the game and had some good chances, Frank Ipoua Dylan stood tall between the sticks to ensure ISOHSA extends their run without conceding to four games in all competitions, during which they have played all three of their goalkeepers for the season.

Njuma’s late strike ensured coach Mbock’s team advances to the 16 finals for the first time in the club’s nine year history, while adding Unisport to the unwanted list of clubs they have eliminated from the competition after Legends FA of Kumba.

ISOHSA who failed in the 32nd finals last season against Dynamo has bettered that now and take an appointment against Stade Renard of Melong who were 4-1 winners against Union Sportive of Douala this Saturday in Yaoundé.

Unisport’s below average season story can’t be told without mentioning ISOHSA of Limbe who also ensured a few weeks ago that the Bafang team only achieved a third place finish in the playoffs.
