Guinness Super League clubs receive kits ahead of kick-off

Officials of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) were part of a Guinness and Boisson du Cameroun meeting with clubs of the Guinness Super League championship in an event to push for a smooth 2023/24 Women’s top-flight championship.

The session which had officials of the 12 top-flight clubs and FECAFOOT vice president Celine Eko had as focus to strategies for a smooth season.

At the end of the deliberations clubs received balls, jerseys and other match equipment to facilitate resumption of the season this weekend.

Authentic Ladies and defending champions Lekie Filles will open the new season this Saturday at the Bepanda Omnisport stadium in Douala.

The Authentic versus Lekie Filles clash in Douala will be the first Guinnessico of the season and mark a return to the championship which the center region outfit won last season.

Authentic Ladies will be counting on their close season acquisition of multiple Guinness Super League winner Hassan Ibrahim as head coach to make a difference not only in the opener, but in the whole of their third season in the top-flight.

12 clubs will compete in the Guinness Cameroon SA bankrolled championship for the coming season.

Newbies Dja Sports of the South Region and Ita Mbong of North West Region secured their spots in the big time via the playoffs that climaxed last August in Yaoundé.

Old-guards Éclair of Sa’a and Amazone FAP have registered a massive exodus in the close season transfer window but are expected to be apt enough to have a go at all in the championship in the coming season.

Title Holders Lekie versus Authentic will set the tone for the rest of the day one matches as Eding clash with heady Fortuna in a center region derby while Caiman hosts Amazon FAP.

Newcomers Dja Sports will face the might of Éclair of Sa’a while last season’s sensation FC Ebolowa are in for an interesting romance against former winners Louves Minprof.

Lekie returns home to face Awa Filles on match day two as Authentic play host to Éclair Filles in a round Fortuna welcomes Caiman in the same city FAP challenge Eding in a center region derby and Dja Sports experiences their first Guinnessico in a south-south clash against FC Ebolowa.

The championship will run for just around six months and the winner will back home 10 Million FCFA plus a ticket to represent Cameroon during the 2025 UNIFFAC women’s CAF Champions League.
