Cameroon legend Vincent Aboubakar delivered another reminder of his goalscoring quality in Türkiye on Wednesday, scoring twice as Bodrum FK cruised to a 4-1 victory away to Sarıyer in the TFF First League.
Aboubakar struck twice inside the opening 24 minutes to put Bodrum firmly in control. After Y. Sertkaya had opened the scoring in the seventh minute, the Cameroon international levelled the contest before completing his brace in the 24th minute to give Bodrum a commanding advantage.
B. Aslan added Bodrum’s fourth goal in the 75th minute, while D. Davas scored a late consolation for Sarıyer. The result lifted Bodrum to 11 points from 10 matches, while Sarıyer remained on 15 points after the defeat.
The victory provides an important boost for Bodrum as they look to climb the TFF First League standings. Their next challenge comes on October 17 when they host Bandırmaspor, before travelling to face Antalyaspor on October 25. They will then welcome Ümraniyespor on November 1 and travel to Boluspor on November 8.
For Aboubakar, the brace further underlines his importance to Bodrum’s campaign. The experienced forward has continued to provide a goalscoring threat since joining the Turkish club, with his latest two-goal display potentially giving him and his teammates renewed confidence ahead of the coming fixtures.
At 34, the Cameroon international continues to show that his finishing instincts remain intact. His performance against Sarıyer gives Bodrum a timely boost and will also be welcomed by Cameroon supporters following another productive outing from one of the country’s most experienced attacking players.
