Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s engagement in Napoli’s clash against AC Milan in the first leg quater final game of the UEFA Champions League, was cut short after he was sent off for a second book able offense.

Things turned sour for Coach Luciano Spalletti when at the 74th minute of play, his midfield maestro, was shown red for another unforgiving foul, four minutes after his first booking.

Anguissa and teammates had plenty of chances in the early stages of the game before Ismaël Bennacer’s scored a first-half goal to help Milan grab a 1-0 win against 10-man Napoli

Before leaving the pitch, Anguissa played a convincing 74’ game, making three smart attempts at goal, plus a long-range effort which went wide shortly before he was sent off.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian midfielder fired three shots in this first leg encounter.

Anguissa counts three goals scored across all competitions this 2022/23 football season for the Italian Serie A giants. He is a regular starter for Napoli and has had quite an impressive season so far at the club.

Napoli went into this encounter without injured top scorer, Victor Osimhen. His availability for the second leg fixture is uncertain and now Spalletti will have to do without Anguissa in the next game.

The serie A leaders still stand a chance of picking up a semi final ticket despite the slim 1-0 defeat. It will have to be a must win game at home plus more goals.
