Friends of a key member of the Southwest Regional Assembly, Honorable Nganje Shedill have raised the sum of 1M FCFA and promised to be in Yaounde for Thursday’s National Interpools semi-final with another 1 Millions FCFA as support to Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) when they face Littoral outfit Pouma FC.
ISOHSA of the Southwest clash with Pouma FC in a do-or-die fixture on Thursday, July 27 at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium.
Ahead of the game, honorable Nganje who donated 200 000 FCFA to the team earlier in the competition has championed an initiative which has pulled the sum of 1 Million FCFA for the club. He offered 500 000 FCFA while the rest of the donors topped the amount and are working on achieving another 1 Million FCFA with which they will travel to Yaounde to pay the players bonus of 2M FCFA for a win.
The likes of award-winning Journalist and whistleblower Elie Smith, Ndinga Derick, Karl Njuma and the members of the WonyaLyonga Youth Council among others have all donated to raise the amount already sent to the club.
Quizzed on the initiative Honorable Nganje said it was part of efforts to promote nation building and empower youths through football.
ISOHSA will face Pouma FC in the first semi-final on Thursday, July 27 and a win in the game will earn automatic promotion to the second tier of Cameroon football.
The promotion of ISOHSA will make it back-to-back promotion for the Southwest Region whose champions of last season Victoria United FC also secured promotion via the 2022 Interpools in Limbe.
