Having emerged champions of the 2023 National Interpools in Limbe, Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe were given a grandeur reception in the towns of Tiko, Mutengene, Buea and Limbe as denizens were out in their numbers to welcome the first club to earn Elite 2 promotion away from home since Dynamic of Buea last did so in 2009 in Douala.

Songs of praises, blessings, thanks were showered on the region’s flag bearers who secured a second Elite 2 ticket in 12 months and emerge champions for the first time in the history of Southwest football.

At the Tiko roundabout, hundreds of fans stood for hours and even braved the odds of the heavy rains to wait for their champions.

From the city of Tiko to Mutengene and right up to the city of legendary hospitality, President Karl Mokake and his boys were celebrated by media men and women, Elites of the region and other dignitaries.

Their stop in Buea was to acknowledge the inputs of the governor of the region, Bernard Okalia Bilai and equally paramount ruler of Buea, Chief Dr Robert Esuka Endeley, whose blessing was sought before the semi final game that saw ISOHSA grab the Elite two ticket.

They went back to say “Thank You” and the paramount chief in return had this to say;

“I will do all I can to bring my people to support the team for making us proud. You have done well”

“As children you’ve done your part now is time for us as parents to stand behind our children,” Governor Bernard Okalia stated.

Down in Limbe, there was more excitement and a larger crowd giving that is the club’s base.

Glory days returned to the region last year when Victoria United gained promotion to Elite two after eight years with no elite team but lost to Aigle Royal of Nkongsamba in the final on home soil.

ISOHSA case is indeed a course for celebration and pride as they went, saw and conquered.

The achievement of a second consecutive Elite two ticket is what the Southwest region will not forgotten in a hurry. Besides the players and club managers, bookmakers have credit the Ndazeh Varlery led FECAFOOT for this feat.
