The 2023 Union of Football Federation of Central Africa(UNIFFAC) U20 tournament will kick-start next month in the DR Congo.

According to the schedule on the desk of the kick442.com editorial team Gabon, Central Africa Republic (CAR), Cameroon, Chad, Congo and DR Congo will participate in the competition expected to run from July 1-7 in Brazzaville.

The six nations tourney to be played on a direct elimination basis will mark the return of regular football in the Central Africa zone.

Hosts DR Congo will open their competition against Chad while Gabon face CAR and regional giants Cameroon grind ashes against upcoming DR Congo who are back from a good U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

All three matches will be played on July 1, at the Stade de Martyrs in Kinshasa.

The winner of the second game will challenge the winner of match three or best loser from match 1 in the knockout fixture while the winner of match 1 will face the best loser from match 2 or 3 or winner of match 3 on July 4.

The losers final will be played on July 7 while the final comes up later that day between the winner of match 4 and 5.

The UNIFFAC headed by Congolese president Jean Blaise Guy Mayolas is rebuilding it’s reputation as the hub of African Football by multiplying competitions to get its national teams more active.

A few months ago, there was another U20 tournament which served as the qualifiers for the U20 AFCON tournament.
