Kumba will come alive this weekend as local sides Legend FA and Kumba City FC aim for spots in the South West Regional League final.

Legend FA face Buea City hoping to bury last season’s heartbreak, while Kumba City tackle Fako United on the back of an 11-match unbeaten run.

-Both ties promise intense, high-stakes football as the Kumba outfits look to gain first-leg advantages at home.

The football-mad city of Kumba will be buzzing this Saturday as its Municipal Stadium hosts the first legs of the South West Regional League semi-finals. The stakes couldn’t be higher as two hometown outfits ,Legend FA and Kumba City FC , aim to write their names into the region’s history books.

Legend FA, semi-finalists for the second straight year, will look to go one better this time around as they lock horns with Buea City FC. The Kumba-based side earned their place after a clinical performance powered by Daniel Mbamene, who netted a brace on either side of the break.

Knocked out at this very stage last season by Best Stars in a tight 1-0 affair, coach Forgu Basil will lean on his attacking talents — including the league’s third-highest scorer, to punish any defensive lapses. The absence of Buea City’s gaffer Edwin Tete due to national team duties could also give Legend FA a psychological edge going into this heavyweight tie.

Elsewhere, Kumba City FC will face Fako United ,the “Njoku Boys” , in what promises to be a tactical chess match. The Citizens return to the semi-finals with a point to prove after missing out last season, and they come into the game riding a wave of momentum.

Kumba City cruised past Options Sport Limbe 2-0 in the quarters thanks to Ngoe Okia’s 21st goal of the season and a peach of a free-kick from Tantoh.

City remain unbeaten in 11 matches this campaign and boast the region’s most ruthless attack ,49 goals scored and just three conceded. Coach Mbaboh Moses will look to keep his high-pressing unit sharp and disciplined as they prepare to face Fako United’s experienced coach Nlend Ayme, who previously masterminded Isohsa’s promotion to Elite Two.

Fako proved their big-game mentality after grinding out a thrilling 3-2 victory over Talented FA in the quarter-finals.

With the first leg at home, The two meme side’s must make home advantage count before the return fixture, which could swing in Favour of their opponents if scheduled in Buea.
