Interpools 2023: Luke Martins scores brace as Pouma FC defeats Bafmeng in a five goals thriller

Pouma Football Club from has defeated Bafmeng United Football Academy by three goals to two to reopen hostilities in Pool B of the ongoing national interpools in Yaounde.

A first half brace from Luke Martins Kenda Nekak and another goal from Jordan Junior Bang was all Pouma FC needed to grab all three points. Goals for Bafmeng United from Livinus Ngong and Constantine Che were not enough for Bafmeng United.

Match Highlights

Pouma Football Club started the match the better team creating most of the scoring opportunities and putting a lot of pressure on the defenders of Bafmeng United.

In the opening quarter of the match, Luke Martins Kenda, Valdo Njouom and Jordan Junior Bang came close to scoring for Pouma Football Club but they all failed to maximize their chances.

At the 22nd minute of play, Daniel Song Nwelar found God’swill Sone Epanlo who provided a perfect assist for Livinus Ngong who scored to give Bafmeng United Football Academy the lead.

Just a minute after, Pouma Football Club equalized with perfect header from Luke Martins Kenda Nekak.

Pouma Football Club continued dominating possession of the ball forcing Bafmeng United to defend and their dominance paid off at the 29th minute of the match when Luke Martins Kenda Nekak in a solo run sent goalkeeper Leonard Ngam to the back of his net for the second time of the match.

God’swill Sone Epanlo was substituted in the first half after he picked up an injury.

At the stroke of half time, Junior Junior Bang scored for Pouma FC to give his side a three one lead at half time.

Bafmeng United’s starting XI against Pouma FC

Coach Soh Simplis brought in Briand Atanga Achu and Genesis Shu Neba upon resumption of the second half. They came in for Daniel Song Nwelar and Enah Ashu Toda.

The substitutions added a new impetus into the match as Livinus Ngong and Briand Atanga Achu came close to reducing the score line.

At the 53rd minute of play, Constantine Che scored for Bafmeng United to reduce the scores.

All efforts from Bafmeng United to level scores were contained by the defenders of Pouma Football Club.

Bafmeng United has lost for the first time in the competition while Pouma FC picks up their first victory.

Bafmeng United remains top of the group with 6 points while Pouma FC, Krimi FC and Olympique FC of Biwong all have 3 points.

On the next day of play coming up on Saturday July 22, 2023, Bafmeng United will take on Ngaoundere FC while Pouma FC will take on Olympique FC of Biwong Bane.
