Cameroon Elite One giant PWD of Bamenda Social Club have completed the signing of experienced Cameroonian full-back, Siganou Nkengne Amede, from second tier championship side Unisport of Bafang.
This Pan-African Sports News agency have information in good authority that the 24-year-old formed Victoria United FC right and left-back has penned a two-year-deal with the Abakwa Boys, bringing an end to his two-year stay with the Bafang outfit.
Nkengne who had interest from Union Sportive of Douala, Fovu Aigle Royal of Menoua settled for PWD over the other options after weeks of negotiations with the management of the 2020 Elite One title winners.
The switch secures a return to top-flight football for Nkengne who last featured in the division in 2021 in the colors of relegated OFTA of Kribi.
Nkengne passed medical and sealed the move to compete in filling the void created by the departure of Etta Bawak Thomas, who joined Dynamo of Douala last week.
The 2017 Cup of Cameroon semi-finalist with Victoria United will join the rest of the PWD squad that continues preparations for the 2023 Cup of Cameroon final to be played on a date yet to be made public.
As part of efforts to reinforce their full-back positions, PWD is in advanced negotiation to sign Billy Samin who sat out of football last season.
The 2023/24 Elite One season kick-off next month. However, before then, coach Roger Constantine Bep’s team will hope to win a second Cup of Cameroon title in three years in the grass field derby final against Fovu of Baham.
