Eric Maxim Choupo Moting scored one of four goals on Tuesday evening to help Bayern Munich sweep past SC Preußen Münster in the first round of the 2023/24 DFB Pokal.

The German giants kept out several key players – including England captain Harry Kane – but still found their way to another easy win in rescheduled tie against the third tier club.

Choupo, 18-year-old French forward Mathys Tel and Konrad Laimer and 20-year-old Frans Kraetzig’s volley put Bayern in complete control by half-time.

Choupo set Bayern on their way to the big win, as he scored one of three first-half goals to ensure the Bavarians put the game to bed before the third-tier side could even nurse any hopes of getting something from the contest.

The Cameroon international retained his place in the team from the last Bundesliga outing and didn’t disappoint.

Choupo put Thomas Tuchel’s team ahead, benefiting from a cross Mathys barely nine minutes into the game.

Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer combined to double the advantage after 40 minutes, but Bayern had time to extend the advantage before the break through Frans Krätzig volley in added time.

The understrength Bayern took their feet slightly off the pedal in the second segment, adding just a goal late on to seal the win.

Mathys Tel received a perfect ball from Bounar Sarr and roundup scoring four minutes from time to complete a new perfect display from the Bavarians.

It was a commanding 4-0 win that had as only downside the injury to Serge Gnabry, who suffered a hand fracture.

Bayern, 20-time winners, progresses to the next round of the Cup and will be hoping Choupo.
