TP Mazembe’s coach Boumedia Lamia is set to fix the poor start of the CAF women’s champions league playoffs that began with a shock 3-2 defeat against Hurricanes FC, when the red carpet is rolled out on Monday, September 11, against Epah Ngamba.
After that defeat, last year’s UNIFFAC zonal champions risk not qualifying for the CAF women’s champions league.
“We are well prepared and here to win all our matches.
“The officiating in our last game was questionable. We had a clear penalty shout which wasn’t checked.
“We will win. I just hope that the referees are on top of their game,” Mazembe’s Lamia stated.
TP Mazembe ladies will absolutely need to win in order to keep slim hopes in the competition alive.
Alongside Boumedia at the presser was Bokeli Tomole, who did not mince words about the team’s willingness to get back on track.
“We are determined for the game tomorrow and I am certain we shall win.”
Quizzed on the importance and dynamics of the game, Bokeli Tomole went on: “The first game is different from the second. Despite a defeat in the first game, we have a high moral.”
In the post match presser of game day one, the TP Mazembe players complained of the state of the pitch but hope to adapt against Epah Ngamba.
“We shall do better in this second game. The turf wasn’t in a good state.
“It is obligatory. We promise to win despite the state of the field or anything. Whatever the case, we shall always defeat Congo Republic. It is non negotiable,” Tomole ended.
The derby is set for 1500 CAT at the Estadio National de Malabo on Monday, September 11.
