After an entertaining 2-2 draw between Egypt and Ghana in the second Group B encounter at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Black Stars forward, Mohammed Kudus has wished Egypt and Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah quick recovery from his injury.

Salah pulled up with a hamstring strain before halftime in Thursday’s Group B game against Ghana in Abidjan.

Earlier on Friday, Egypt doctor Mohamed Abu El-Ela said Salah had initially wanted to continue playing in the key game but when the pain became more acute he asked to be taken off hence Kudus who commented on Salah’s injury during the post match press conference stated that the fous is not on Slaha chile wishing him quichk recovery.

“We know that Mohamed Salah is a very tough player but I am focused on my teammates. With or without him, we still approached the game the same way. Sorry for his injury. I wish him quick recover,” Kudus told journalists.

“As an attacking player, you want your goal to reflect on the result but we got a point today.

“I think we deserve more goals. Although the goals we conceded were silly mistakes from us which we need to learn from.”

Chris Hughton’s side hope to pick a win in their final group game with Mozambique.

“We will put this game aside and focus on the next game. Egypt is a good side with all the energy and enthusiasm. Everyone gave their best. We fought them and focus on the next game.

“It is very possible. Until we finish our next match and the last game in the group, it is the same focus. You could see the fightinh spirit and energy from the guys. We have to do more than that in the last game because we have to get the three points, get focused and see what is going to happen after.

“The ultimate goal for all of us is to lift the trophy but the sub goal is to get out of the group. The focus is one game at a time.We came here to win the trophy but we can’t look far ahead but just need to take it one game at a time.

“After today, the focus is to focus on the next game and that is the focus for every single game.” He concluded.

Salah netted a last-gasp penalty on Sunday, after a VAR decision, for Egypt to draw 2-2 with Mozambique in their opening game and escape an embarrassing defeat.

On Thursday, they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Ghana and effectively need a win in their last group game on Monday against the Cape Verde Islands if they are to advance to the last 16.
