Geovanni Vianney Agbor Ndjee’s rapid rise in European football has earned him a major reward, with the FC Copenhagen forward receiving his first call-up to Cameroon’s senior national team. At 19, the young attacker is preparing to take another important step in a journey that has moved quickly from the training grounds of Kadji Sport Academy to the senior dressing room of the Indomitable Lions.
Head coach David Pagou has included Ndjee among the new faces in his 28-man squad for Cameroon’s November double-header against Namibia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. It is a significant moment for a player who, less than a year ago, was preparing to begin a new chapter in Denmark after leaving Cameroon in search of an opportunity to develop his talent in European football.
Ndjee’s move to FC Copenhagen was confirmed in December 2025, with the striker joining the Danish club in January 2026 from Kadji Sport Academy. Initially expected to develop with the club’s under-19 team while training regularly with the senior side, he wasted little time making an impression. Copenhagen’s technical staff quickly recognised his potential and, in April, promoted him permanently to the first-team squad.
His progress was not simply a matter of training ground promise. Ndjee made his senior debut against FC Midtjylland in February 2026 before announcing himself with a memorable performance against Vejle BK in April. Coming off the bench, the Cameroonian scored twice in 16 minutes during Copenhagen’s 4-1 victory, registering his first professional goals and giving supporters a glimpse of what he could offer in the years ahead.
The youngster’s game combines physical strength, intelligent movement and a natural instinct for finding the net. He is comfortable using both feet, can threaten opponents in the air and has the ability to exploit spaces behind defensive lines. These qualities have helped him adapt to the demands of senior football, where opportunities are rarely handed out without a fight. His continued involvement with Copenhagen has also given him valuable experience in the Danish Superliga, domestic cup competitions and European football.
Now, that progress has opened the door to the Indomitable Lions. Ndjee is among five players receiving their first senior call-ups from Pagou, whose selection reflects a willingness to give emerging talents an opportunity to prove themselves. For the young forward, joining a squad that includes established names such as Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba offers a chance to learn from players who have already made their mark at the highest level.
Cameroon’s two meetings with Namibia on November 12 and 16 will provide Ndjee with his first opportunity to experience the senior national-team environment. Whether he makes his international debut during the double-header remains to be seen, but his inclusion is already an important milestone for a player whose career continues to gather momentum.
From Kadji Sport Academy to FC Copenhagen’s first team, and now to the Indomitable Lions, Ndjee has taken significant strides in a short period. His first call-up is recognition of that progress, but it also brings a new challenge: proving that he can translate his promise at club level into performances for his country. At 19, he has time on his side, and Cameroon will hope this is the beginning of a rewarding international career.
