Cameroon senior men’s national team captain, Vincent Aboubakar didn’t partake in the team’s latest trainign session in preparation for their next Group C encounter against holders, Seenegal.

The day after their 1-1 draw against Guinea in their opening group game in the 34th final phase of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023), the Indomitable Lions got back to work on Tuesday morning between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at INPHB South in Yamoussoukro.

At the end of one more closed-door training session which lasted almost 70 minutes, during which 25 players took part, the activities were focused on recovery (cleaning up) for the starters from the day before and on exercises in workshops for replacements.

Vincent Aboubakar, who continues to treat his injury, and Christopher Wooh, who suffered a knee injury against Guinea, stayed at the President Hotel.
After the game against the Syli Nacional, Rigobert Song and his men have resolutely turned their attention towards the next stage of their journey against Senegal on January 19 at the Charles Konan Banny stadium.
On Wednesday, the highlight of the Indomitable Lions’ day will be the training session they will have on their field at the INPHB South in Yamoussoukro from 5 p.m. local time, 6 p.m. in Yaoundé.
The Lions have won five African titles in 1984, 1988, 2000, 2002, and 2017.
They hope to win their sixth title in Cote d’Ivoire but need to get a good result against the 2021 winners, Senegal to stand any chance of progressing from the group stage.
