Cameroon head coach David Pagou has unveiled a 26-player squad for the Indomitable Lions’ upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Comoros and Congo, as well as an international friendly against Côte d’Ivoire.
The five-time African champions will open their Group J qualifying campaign against Comoros on 24 September 2026 before travelling to face Congo on 29 September.
Cameroon will then round off the international window with a high-profile friendly against Côte d’Ivoire on 3 October 2026.
Pagou has blended experience and emerging talent in his first squad, with several players currently based across Europe, Africa and South America.
In goal, Simon Brady Ngapandouetnbu of Montpellier, Blondy Rudolph Nna Noukeu of US Boulogne and Emile Merlin Lako Wendeu of South African side Marumo Gallants have been selected.
The defensive department features Norwich City’s Darlin Yongwa, Rennes defender Mahamadou Nagida, Junior Samuel Kotto of Stade de Reims and Emmanuel Moungam A Ngon of Swedish club Landskrona BoIS.
Jackson Tchatchoua of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stéphane Paul Keller of SK Beveren, Che Malone Fondoh Junior of USM Alger, Kevin Keben of Watford, Duplex Tchamba Bangou of Clube do Remo, Lilian Paul Ndenjo of Servette and Stoke City defender Junior Baptiste Tchamadeu complete the defensive options.
In midfield, Pagou has called up FK Jablonec midfielder Saidou Alioum Moubarak, Arthur Avom of FC Lorient, Ryan Cloire Fosso of Standard Liège and Manchester United midfielder Bryan Mbeumo.
Mael Fernandez Monyebe of Espérance de Tunis, AJ Auxerre forward Danny Namaso, Harouna Djibrin of Angers SCO and David Rady Nyengue of Espérance Sportive de Zarzis complete the midfield contingent.
The attack will be led by UD Levante forward Karl Edouard Blaise Etta Eyong, with Lille’s Dorinel Angel Yondjo, Deportivo La Coruña forward Bil Dornol Nsongo Tonfack and Bayer Leverkusen youngster Christian Michel Kofane also included.
The selection of Nsongo comes after a remarkable rise for the young forward, who helped Deportivo La Coruña secure promotion to La Liga last season and has since established himself among the club’s senior options.
Kofane, meanwhile, continues to be one of the most closely watched young Cameroonian forwards in Europe following his move to Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.
The squad marks Pagou’s first major assignment as Cameroon’s head coach, with the new coach tasked with guiding the Indomitable Lions through the road to the 2027 AFCON finals.
Cameroon will be aiming for a strong start in Group J when they welcome Comoros on 24 September before travelling to Congo five days later.
The Indomitable Lions will then face reigning African champions Côte d’Ivoire in a friendly on 3 October, providing Pagou with another opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the continuation of the AFCON qualifying campaign.
