The President of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), Idriss Diallo, has firmly put an end to speculation surrounding the future of national team head coach Emerse Faé, reaffirming the federation’s full confidence in him.

Speaking during an interview broadcast on NCI – Sport Express, Diallo dismissed ongoing debates and criticism, stressing that the coach’s record speaks for itself.

“We must stop this debate and be serious,” Diallo said. “The coach won the Africa Cup of Nations, qualified Côte d’Ivoire for the World Cup, and reached the quarter-finals. Faé has our confidence. He will remain in his position, and we will go to the World Cup with him. Let him work.”

Emerse Faé’s tenure has been marked by historic success, most notably leading the Elephants to victory at the Africa Cup of Nations, a triumph that reignited national pride and restored Côte d’Ivoire’s place among Africa’s football elite. Under his leadership, the team also secured qualification for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, reinforcing the federation’s long-term sporting project.

Diallo’s statement is seen as a clear signal of stability and continuity within Ivorian football, at a time when public debate and media scrutiny had intensified around the national team’s future direction.

By publicly backing Faé, the FIF leadership aims to provide the coach and players with a calm working environment as preparations begin for the World Cup, with expectations high among supporters across the country.
