- Didier Lamkel Ze found a new place to call home in Fatih Karagümrük
- He has joined the Turkish second tier championship side on a one-year contract
- Lamkel Ze could make his debut for the club in the home game against MKE Ankaragücü on September 15 when he returns from international duty with Cameroon
Second tier Turkish championship side Fatih Karagümrük have signed up Didier Lamkel Ze from rivals Sakaryaspor Kulübü Derneği less than a month after he joined the previous club on a one-year contract as they seek experience to cause immediate return to the Turkish Super League.
The 27-year-old Cameroon international was signed as a free agent and was unveiled this Tuesday, thus starting a new chapter in his globetrotting football career.
Ze left Hatayaspor in June after returning from a disappointing loan spell at FC Metz which amounted to the relegation of the four-time Ligue 2 winners.
Sakaryaspor that was formed in 1965 after the merger of Adapazarı Gençlerbirliği, Adapazarı İdman Yurdu, Güneşspor and Ada Gençlik thought they had found their man upfront when they signed Ze, unfortunately they didn’t meet their obligations, thus forcing the player to move.
The 2023 Turkish Cup semi-finalist will be hopeful to have a very productive Lamkel Ze to inspire their promotion to the Turkish Super League as the former Lille and Royal Antwerp man have all it entails to do so.
Fatih Karagümrük picked up three points in the opening four round of matches of the season and are up against eighth-placed MKE Ankaragücü on match day five of the Turkish championship.
In the international scene, Ze has made three appearances for Cameroon’s senior national team. He is currently in camp with the Indomitable Lions squad to face Namibia and Zimbabwe this month in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Bertoua native also represented his country at the U-20 category.
