  • Atlantic of Kribi have secured their spot in the 2024/25 MTN Elite Two championship
  • Atlantic will join Union Sportif of Abong Mbang as the two graduates from the 2024 national interpools

Atlantic of Kribi have ascended to the MTN Elite Two championship following their 9-8 penalty victory against Mintack of Haut Sanaga in the second semi-final game this Friday.

The second game at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium failed to produce goals though there was sufficient talking points through the 120 minutes of football and the shootouts.

Kameni whose goals ensured Mintack get this far was villain in the cold evening as he missed the last penalty for Mintack which amounted to their defeat.

Coach Bata Njam’s team showed character and held their nerves to win it and ensure Elite football returns to the South Region for the first time since the relegation of Ofta of Kribi.

This win for Atlantic of Kribi means they join Union Sportif of Abang as the newcomers in the Elite Two championship for the coming season.

Despite the assurance of a place in the second tier championship, Abong Mbang of Bertoua and Atlantic of Kribi will cap the 2024 National Interpools in a final that looks very interesting on paper.

The new MTN Elite Two championship campaign will get underway on October 12 and will be played in a one system format that accommodates 17 club as it stands.
