Newly-promoted Elite One side, Panthere Sportive of Nde, have secured an agreement with seasoned coach Souleymanou Aboubakar ahead of the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

Aboubakar, a familiar name in the Cameroonian coaching scene, brings a wealth of experience to the team.

Aboubakar, who previously worked with clubs such as Fovu, Djiko, Cotonsport, UMS, and Canon, as well as the Cameroon U-20 team, is known for his ability to deliver results.

His tenure at UMS of Loum during the 2023/2024 season was cut short due to differences with management, leading to his departure mid-playoffs in Yaoundé.

Before joining UMS of Loum, Aboubakar played a pivotal role in helping Canon of Yaoundé qualify for the title playoffs in the previous season. Despite Canon’s 11-time Cup of Cameroon victories, they narrowly missed out on the championship.

Aboubakar steps in to replace Coach Soh Simplice, who now leads the Intermediate Lions. Simplice had successfully guided the team back to Cameroon’s top flight one year after their reinstatement.

With the Cameroon Football Federation already confirming Panther Sportive as one of the 16 teams participating in the top-flight competition next season, Aboubakar faces the task of making strategic recruitments to bolster the team’s chances of clinching the title.
