Equatorial Guinea’s 15 de Agosto have punched their ticket to the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League, dismantling Cameroonian side FC Ebolowa 3-0 in a winner-takes-all final to be crowned UNIFFAC zonal champions.
Playing in front of a roaring home crowd in Malabo, the hosts delivered a clinical performance to seal their spot among Africa’s elite.
The tone was set just five minutes after the first whistle when Jessy Ornella produced a moment of individual brilliance, weaving through the opposition to fire home the opener. FC Ebolowa struggled to find a foothold as the hosts dominated the final third.
The pressure paid off again when prolific striker Ana Maria Nchama doubled the lead on 35 minutes with a composed finish. She later secured her brace and put the result beyond doubt with a final strike in the 86th minute, capping a commanding team victory and a clean sheet.
While 15 de Agosto celebrated their continental qualification, the day’s other fixture saw a staggering goal-glut. AC Colombe annihilated TP Electsport 7-0 in a completely one-sided affair. The match was defined by a phenomenal five-goal haul from Ruth Sandra Bikounkou, who proved simply unstoppable. Fatumata Ndiaye and Ruth Tokasi also got on the scoresheet to complete the rout.
With the Central African qualifiers now settled, 15 de Agosto joins a formidable lineup for the continental showpiece.
They will test their mettle against reigning champions TP Mazembe, along with other zonal winners including ASFAR (Morocco), USFAS (Mali), ASEC Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), JKT Queens (Tanzania), and Gaborone (Botswana).
