Elite One returns with host teams struggling for points, complete matchday 8 results, scorers, statistics

After the FIFA World Cup break, the MTN Elite One championship in Cameroon returned Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st in some stadia across the country with host teams struggling for points.

In 10 matches played, just one team was able to grab three points while away teams dominated most of the matches.

– Avion Academy 1#2 UMS Loum

Jeumis Konby Ndedi scored a last-minute goal to hand a 2#1 win to UMS of Loum. Earlier, Collins Ashe had given UMS the lead before Avion equalized via Ewoume Hongla.

– Colombe of Dja and Lobo 0#0 Stade Renard

Djiko FC 1#0 Renaissance of Ngoumou

Malai Mohammed’s goal in the second minute of the match was all Djiko FC needed to take home all three points.

– Aigle of Menoua 1#1 Coton Sport of Garoua

Coach David Pagou and his boys of Aigle were a hard nod to crake for Coton Sport. Aigle took the lead in the match through Bihina Mboe before Daman Abdouraman equalized for Coton Sport.

– PWD Bamenda 0#1 Eding Sport

PWD of Bamenda continues its search for consistency in the league. They suffered a 0#1 defeat inflicted on them by Eding. The lone goal was scored by Peter Nebankia.

– Dragon Yaounde 0#0 Bamboutos Mbouda

– Fauve Azur 0#2 YOSA

YOSA picked up their second victory of the season thanks to two second-half goals from Embe Franck Eric and Njibero Durell.

– AS Fortuna 2#2 Union Douala

It was a four-goal thriller that separated AS Fortuna and Union of Douala.

The two goals for AS Fortuna were scored by Manuel Joseph Mbollo and Lionel Massi while Jean Claude Kameni and Habdoullah Adamou scored for Union Douala.

– YAFOOT 1#2 Astres Douala

Ivan Djantou opened his goal-scoring account for Astres of Douala as he scored their first goal before Rodrigue Tchatchoua doubled their lead. Francis Essa Tina scored for YAFOOT in additional time but it was just a consolation.

-Gazelle FA 1#2 Apejes of Mfou

Joseph Apam opened scores for Apejes from the penalty spot and their lead was doubled by Christian Bayokolack. The goal for Gazelle FA was scored by Joel Djondang.

Fovu of Baham was on standby in Group B.

Day nine matches have been programmed for Saturday, December 24, 2022.
