Djiko FC of Bandjoun picked up their second victory in seven outings in the Elite One championship this Wednesday at the Bandjoun municipal stadium courtesy a strike from exciting Cameroonian forward Malai Mohamed.

The side which struggled in the first segment of the season but closed it with a 1-0 win against PWD before the 2022 FIFA World Cup repeated the trick on ten man Renaissance FC of Ngoumou.

Malai sanctioned the game in favor of the host courtesy a second minute strike as Anicet Koung’s Renaissance tried unsuccessfully to get back into the contest.

The visitors task became even more daunting when center-back Ndougou was sent off due to a reckless challenge earlier in the second segment.

Djiko FC guided by coach Dieudonne Nke held on for the rest of the afternoon and limited Renaissance’s chances to cap another great day out.

The win takes Djiko up to eighth in Pool A with eight points while Renaissance FC are a point and a place below them.

Djiko face Eding Sport de la Lekie in the next outing on Wednesday while Renaissance FC face Avion Academy also fresh from a defeat.
