Determine Girls clinch third straight league title

Liberian women’s league holders, Determine Girls retained the league title on Sunday after a 15-0 bashing of Bassa Girls FC.

The 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League campaigners raced to a 9-0 halftime lead thanks to Mabinty’s hat trick and a goal each from Joy, Sylvia, and Elizabeth.

The team scored six more goals in the second half to emerge as Champions.

With 57 points, a point ahead of Ambassadors which also thrashed Hippo 10-0, Determine Girls sealed its third straight league title.

This will be the third season in a row that Determine Girls will win the title after previous success in 2021 and 2022.

The team will represent Liberia at the West African Football Union Zone A (WAFU-A) Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The 2022 WAFU-B Champions increased the number of women’s league Champions in Africa to eleven.

Disciples (Madagascar), AFAK Relizane (Algeria), Wadi Degla (Egypt), New Generation (Zanzibar), Kampala Queens (Uganda), Atletico d’Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Mogbwemo Queens (Sierra Leone), BUSA Queens (Burundi), USFA (Burkina Faso), and AS Kigali (Rwanda) are the other winners of their various leagues.
