2023 U17 AFCON: Cameroon to continue preparations in Tunisia

The U17 Lions of Cameroon are in Tunisia to continue preparations for the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The team left Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde on Sunday, April 15 for the North African.

Yondjo Matam Angel and co will have eight days of preparations for the U17 AFCON slated for April 29 to May 19 in Algeria.

Serge Mimpo and team have lined up three friendlies against Tunisia sides; Esperance de Tunis, Club Africain and Etoile Sportive de Sahel Reserves slated for April 18, 22 and 24 respectively.

Before their exit, the team has played five friendlies back at home,scoring 15 goals and conceding four.

Their latest exploits was against Canon sportive Reserves on Thursday April 13th. Dipanda Esono Rodrigue scored a brace in the teams 5:0 win.

The Player FC prodigy is a player to watch out for in Algeria as he is the author of four out of the team’s 15 goals so far.

After their match on April 24, the team will be heading to the host Country Algeria. Their first match will be on May 1, against debutants South Sudan.

Their remaining group games would be played on May 4 against Mali and Burkina Faso on May 7.
