Cotonsport of Garoua are understood to have rejected a 25million FCFA offer for defender Che Malone Fondoh Junior from CR Belouizdad, kick442.com can report.

Che spent last season two seasons at Cotonsport and impressed many across the board.

The defender is worth $500k (approximately 300 Millions FCFA) per TransferMkt but current Algerian Champions CRB tabled an offer around the region of 25 Millions FCFA which has been rejected by his current employers.

Cotonsport are looking for a fee closer to the player’s valuation and prefer to sanction a deal to Europe though not ruling out offers from elsewhere.

Earlier this week, we reported that CRB has scouts monitoring the player during this 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Algeria.

It’s unclear whether or not the club’s scout will continue their job on the center-half currently in Algeria with the rest of the Cameroon team.

The ex-Continental FA of Buea and Union Sportive of Douala sweeper has grown in status in the past 12 months in Garoua – moving a fringe player to the first name on coach Gabriel Herman’s lips whenever he picks his team.

Malone and defence partner Ali Goni inspired Cotonsport to a league and cup double last term – helping the club win the domestic cup without conceded for the first time in history.

The Cameroon international made his full debut for the five-time African champions in a warm-up game against the Raggae Boys of Jamaica few days before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Many are those who see the player as Rigobert Song’s heir apparent due to his game and hairstyles.

In the meantime, he is expected to return home and join the rest of the Cotonsport squad in preparations for the Group stages of the CAF Champions League expected to start on February 18 with a home clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in Garoua.
