2015 Cup of Cameroon winners UMS of Loum failed to show up for their 32nd final game of the 2023 Cup of Cameroon, thus handing a walkover win to North Regional League side Champions FC of Garoua.

The two-time finalist from Loum failed didn’t travel to Bertoua which had to host the game on Saturday at the Bertoua Municipal Stadium.

Champions FC were present, completed pre-match formalities but couldn’t play because of the absence of their opening.

It is expected that the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) in charge of organization of the national challenge cup awards a win to the amateur club.

This gives president Souleymanou Hamidou’s side a chance to advance to the 16th finals for the first time in history.

They will face the winners between Aigle Royal of Menoua and Edu Sport Academy in the 16th final game scheduled to take place next week in Buea.

Meeting either club will make the first meeting in the history of the institutions.
