The head coach of the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, Jean Baptiste Bisseck has picked nine home-based players to complement the foreign players retained for the first round 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) tie against Kenya later this month.

Lekie Filles FC attacking duo Tabe Brenda Ebika and Marie Giselle Nga lead the Cameroon-based crew that traveled to Douala this Sunday to continue the preparations.

Coach Bisseck picked the nine girls from 24 players he had summoned and observed in camp for two weeks.

Toko Njoya of Lekie Filles, Omboudou Brigette, Cathy Biya, Naomie Eto, Marie Ngono, Christemelie Onomo and Mague complete the list of retained players plying their trade in Cameroon.

List of players:

1️⃣ Onomo Etaba Christemilie Ornelle (Fc Ebolowa)

2️⃣Cathy Biya (Éclair Football Filles de Sa’a)

3️⃣Marie Gisèle Divine Ngah Manga ( Lekie Football Filles)

4️⃣ Brenda Ebika Tabe ( Lekie Football Filles)

5️⃣Toko Njoya ( Éclair Football Filles de Sa’a)

6️⃣Ngono Marie Victoire ( Éclair Football Filles de Sa’a)

7️⃣Brigitte Omboudou ( FC Ebolowa)

8️⃣Ines Maague ( Amazone Fap FC)

9️⃣Leslie Naomi Eto ( Amazone Fap FC)

Though the list is yet to be made public, the rest of the players from abroad will begin arriving in the country this weekend as Cameroon steps up gear to enter the first round of the qualification.

Cameroon hosts Kenya on September 22 at the Reunification stadium in Bepanda Douala, before traveling to Nairobi for the reversed fixture at the Nyaro national stadium on September 26.

The winner of the tie will advance to the final round of the qualifiers to determine the nations to QUAL for next year’s AWCON tournament in Morocco.
