Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi returned from international duty with a goal for Abha SC this Saturday but couldn’t prevent a 1-3 defeat in the hands of visiting Al-Etiffaq.

The hosts fell short to their brilliant visitors, courtesy of goals from Moussa Dembele, Robin Quaison and Al-Ghamdi in the lively second segment that produced all of the game’s moments of celebration at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium.

The first segment of the game was goal ridden, but the second segment turned out to be more exciting.

The game came to life 13 minutes into the second segment as Dembele pounced on a well-worked ball into the box to put the visitors ahead.

Quaison scored the second before Ghamdi wrapped up things eight minutes from time by making it 3-0.

Toko scored a late penalty in the eighth minute of additional time, but it was too little too late for coach Czesław Michniewicz and his team that couldn’t match the tactics employed by Steven Gerard in the other dugout.

The result leaves Ahba on the 11th spot on the log with two wins in six while Al-Etiffaq moves up to the fourth spot.

Toko on his part counts three goals in two appearances in the Saudi Arabia Pro League this season.
