Cameroon has won Bronze at the just-ended 2024 Men’s Senior Artistic Gymnastics in Marakech.

Team Cameroon finished behind Egypt and hosts Morocco to secure a medal in Bronze on Saturday at the latest edition of the competition held in Morocco.

The week-long event climaxed this weekend with the decoration of outstanding performances from athletes of the participating nations.

The tournament which was initially supposed to have 11 nations ended up without Algeria, after its federation informed the continental body of their decision to pull out of the tournament citing political tensions with Morocco. The Federation had prepared its athletes for the event but the current diplomatic situation between Algeria and Morocco caused the Algeria Sports ministry not to approve their budget.

Usual suspects Egypt and Morocco occupied the top two positions at the end of the competition while Cameroon finished on their heels.

For team Cameroon, it is a result fitting enough to build on and achieve more in the near future. Cameroon will get better with time – provided those in charge engage in activities to enhance development of the sports.
