Cameroon: Engelbert Mbarga lands top job

Thursday, April 13, 2023 – Former Cameroon international Engelbert Mbarga, has been appointed head of the Cameroon national football directorate (DTN).

The appointment of Mbarga, 60, was made public this Thursday after the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) media division released a graphic containing his picture and the message “Welcome Home”.

The former Mount Cameroon, Canon and TKC manager was part of the first generation of Indomitable Lions was deputy director before the move today, which some term a promotion.

Mbarga arrive with over 30 years experience in football replaces Serge Noah who was sacked last December after just over two years in the job.

The former Cameroon U17 and U20 head coach has the herculean task of implementation of the football policies adopted by FECAFOOT for all age category national teams while overseeing grass foot football development through coaches of clubs and academies as well.

Mbarga, a defender for Cameroon in his playing days becomes the latest former footballer brought on board by FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o Fils since he took over the FA in December 2022.

He would be assisted Victorine Fomum as the deputy director.

Simo Tamba Prince is part of the service who is in charge of specialist football and assisted by Ngue Zack Nadege.

Lingondo Divine is also part of the DTN staff.
