The Association of Elite clubs of Cameroon known by its french acronym as ASEC, have suspended one of its members Neba George Suh of Rangers FC of Bafut, after he accused FECAFOOT’s president Samuel Eto’o Fils of being disrespectful.

Neba George Suh, president of Elite two side Rangers FC of Bafut, is a member of ASEC, an association that brings together all Elite one and two clubs in Cameroon.

In a recent outing on the media, the native of Bafut in the North West Region, spoke bitterly about FECAFOOT’s handling of subventions meant for clubs. He went further to state that Eto’o disrespects clubs presidents, whereas he owns no club.

“I first want to remind you that it is he himself (Eto’o) who makes the comments on the radios and televisions. You agree with me that Samuel Eto’o is a billionaire, yet he does not have a club. We don’t get up in the morning to be club president, so he owes us respect,” George Neba said in an interview relayed by CFOOT.

“He has to stop what he’s saying here. I have my company, and it’s the federation that comes to dictate to me how I pay my employees? This is inappropriate. He fixes the amount he says he will pay, but we are waiting for the money, the money does not come,” he added.

“My club spends six millions on salaries per month on players. Yesterday I received four millions from the federation in my bank account, even though I have been paying players for several months. If the federation has no money, tell us to manage. I spend hundreds of millions every year to run my club. The federation promised 23 million, the championship started more than five months ago, I only received 10 million 300 thousand in total Until today. I’ve been spending 75 thousands every day on training bonuses since July. They say they’re going to give me 23 million, but it’s coming in a trickle.

“Samuel Eto’o disrespects us, but he wants us to respect him, that’s not done. We all know that there is no money at the federation, he must tell you the truth. If this is not the case, why are we paying in small amounts?,” Said a bittered George Neba.

FECAFOOT’s president Samuel Eto’o, had asked clubs to provide justification of usage of the first installment of subventions, before they could receive the second and third installments.

The Association of Elite clubs of Cameroon, have now confirmed that they met in an emergency session on Friday March 10 in Yaoundé, and decided to suspend Neba George Suh from all their activities.

In a communiqué made public on Friday evening and signed by its president Pascal Abunde, ASEC states that;

“For serious attack by the inaccurate remarks on the image of the Cameroonian football federation (FECAFOOT) and its president Samuel Eto’o as well as that of the Association of Elite clubs of Cameroon (ASEC), Neba George Suh, president of Rangers FC, is suspended from all activities of ASEC till further notice. ACEC also reserves the right to bring it before the fecafoot ethics commission.”

It is still to be seen if Neba George will respond to the latest outing from ASEC.

Many pundits have criticized ASEC’s outing and accused the association of failing to fight for their own member, but instead exposing him in public.
