Officials of Women’s top-flight, men’s top-flight and second tier championships in Cameroon are currently venting their anger on officials of the Cameroon football federation for the insignificant compensation made to them after they completed a three-day FIFA seminar in Mbankomo on professionalism of Elite clubs in Cameroon.
A number of the officials have expressed their disappointment after they had to wait for two weeks after submitting signed photocopies of their national identification cards and after those two weeks they received insignificant.
“Its because of 1200FCFA($2) that I was asked to photocopy my ID card and sign three times?” a disgruntled official asked.
A careful reading of the situation shows the payments from the FECAFOOT funds is made as a refund of the transportation of the club delegates to and fro the venue of the seminar.
Going by this, the payments varies between 1200 and 10000 FCFA for the moment, either which in practice can’t fully compensate for what was spent by the delegates who travelled for the event.
Worthy of note, FECAFOOT hosted the club officials for the three days in a full board bed and two meals options.
Whatever be the case, officials that represented clubs went back home with richer football brains even if they are disappointed with what went into their pockets.
