The Union of Football Federation of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) has picked September 8-14 as the period for the 2022/23 Women’s CAF Champions League zonal tournament to determine the champion and its flag bearers at the finals, later this year in Cote D’Ivoire.

Malabo, Equatorial Guinea has been selected as the venue for the eight-day event that will pull together four clubs to competing for the lone spot available for UNIFFAC at the finals.

Awa Filles FC of Cameroon, DR Congo champions TP Mazembe Ladies, Ngamba Ladies of the Congo will compete with host Hurricanes of Malabo.

The tournament to be played in a group round robbing format will produce the next champion of the zone.

Last year’s champions, TP Mazembe and runners-up Awa Filles are returnees in the zonal jamboree while Hurricane and Ngamba make their first entry.

This season’s competition will determine the club to represent UNIFFAC at the finals in Côte d’Ivoire.

Last year, TP Mazembe represented the zone, but couldn’t go all the way in Morocco as AS FAR Ladies emerged champions of the second edition of the competition.
