Cotonsport if Garoua, Cameroon’s representative in the group stages of the 2022/23 CAF will face usual suspects Al Ahly of Egypt, Mamelodi Sundowns and El Hilal of Sudan per the pairings done this Monday.
The Coton weavers are in a group B with 11 previous champions league titles as Al Ahly have won the trophy on not less than ten occasions and reached the final last year. They also battle with 2016 winners Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Hilal of previous winner Florent Ibenge who return to the group stages of the competition.
It promises to be a real test for Kaiba Djawal and mates as Cotonsport returns to the group stages for the first time since 2017.
Cotonsport were in the same group with Al Ahly during that 2017 campaign and lost at home and away, a result they will be keen to improve this time around.
Cotonsport last faced Sundowns in 2003 and equally lost both games but the present generation of players have what it takes to pull an upset.
The group stages of the competition starts on February 11 and run till the end of April.
