The Olympic Lions of Cameroon are through to the finals of the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after the disciplinary commission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced this Tuesday that they have found Gabon guilty of administrative errors in inputting the data of Floriss Djave who featured during the two-leg qualifier matches played in March.

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) accused their Gabonese counterparts of colluding in fraud with forward to change his age details to be eligible for the tie.

According to a document in our keeping, the Gabonese federation argued that it was an error committed in the process of the player’s registration but punished them in conformity with article 40, 47 and 52 which prescribes elimination of a country that commits administrative error(s) in the process of registration of its athlete.

Details to follow.
