Best Stars Academy of Limbe, Leopard of Yokadouma and Gazelle FA of Garoua emerged champions of their respective categories to emerge champions of the week-long 20th edition of the Limbe international tournament.
Friday’s finals at the Limbe Centenary stadium were simply thrilling though just a goal was scored in the three matches.
Best Stars edged Real Foot Academy of Douala by 1-0 to emerge champions of the U-14 category. The Limbe lads finished the competition as the only unbeaten side.
In the other categories, it took penalties to separate Leopard from Lesa of Tiko U-16, same as Gazelle FA did against Best Stars U-18.
The latest edition of the competition attended by former Cameroon international Joseph Desire marked the 20th anniversary of the initiative that started way back in 2003 and has showcased a number of today’s top players.
The tournament which showcased the likes of Njie Clinton, Carlos Baleba, Ignatius Ganago has formed the reputation of a major scouting ground for European scouts and clubs.
The 21st edition of the annual jamboree has been slated for December 2024 at the same seaside resort city.
