Spain giants, Barcelona have inserted a whopping €400m release clause into the contract of Senegalese defender, Mikayil Faye, according to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

Faye joins Barcelona from Croatian side NK Kustošija Zagreb with reports claiming the Catalans are paying anything from 1.5m to 5m euros for the youngster.

Faye has previously been linked with Chelsea and Dortmund but has now headed to Camp Nou instead.

Faye has reportedly been nicknamed ‘The Monster’ due to his no-nonsense brand of defending.

The defender came through the Diambars FC Academy in Senegal before signing for NK Kustosija in 2023. He’s also caught the eye while playing for Senegal’s Under-17 side.

Faye is a left-footer, capable of playing anywhere across the defense, and is already being tipped to be a future star.

Faye will start initial part of the pre-season with Barça first team, as Xavi wants to monitor him closely.
